Thoughts about words
While delving into the frustrations that adulthood brings along with itself and throws straightaway at our faces, while we still vacillate between floating around with memories of the past and confirming to the ideal way of ageing, art is what we believe and with time realize that truly frees us. ART in its various forms and ways is something difficult to put into a certain shape. It's actually like water, changing shapes and forms with different ideas and beliefs. It is hard to get art into some specific words or describe it within their bounds but it is, what it is. Anyway, before I derail from what exactly had amused me enough to write something, I might get this straight. The thought of struggles and hollowness led me to the idea of art, the idea of art led me to the idea of writing and the idea of writing led me to the fact , how impossibly difficult it becomes to write about something if your commitment and feelings towards the idea are weak. How this weakness impairs you to connect to anything in life, let alone your words. While talking to a friend who was finding it rough to write an article worth 750 words on a political issue, which had taken the entire country into it's grip by it's irreparably shocking and traumatic effects, had been a hot topic in the media for a while, yet this boredom and dissatisfaction came with his realization of apathy towards the topic. He COULD'VE written it with ease because of all the sources available and all the content available online but what mattered was that he DIDN'T want to. Obligation never always works well with humans. Writing doesn't need to brought if you feel strongly for something, it just comes as it is. It doesn't become a matter of quantum of words floating on a piece of paper or in a document, It is just how it is. It comes, you be happy about it, you read it several times and wonder from where did the line get stuck with you from and came off on a piece of paper. It makes you glad and you let it. It fills up your unidentified hollowness. Feeling strongly for something comes off as a truth among the sets of lies that have been heaped upon our heads and that is what pushes us towards art because where else would these bottled up pieces of truth go? And it's not always the lack of words or it's not always the ideas that run dry , sometimes it's just our inability to come in terms with the emotions.
Well, mental blockage is a reminder , isn't it? A reminder that we are feeling a little less than usual and maybe it could've been better.
